Vindie sources grapes exclusively from independently managed California coastal vineyards from Mendocino to Santa Barbara. Winemaker Alison Crowe grew up around vineyards in the central coast and honed her craft at home and abroad with Michel Rolland, Randall Graham, and Jayson Woodbridge. Her philosophy is to start in the vineyard by hand picking and blending specific blocks that coalesce into something magical. Through meticulous attention to detail, she ensures this happening during fermentation and aging in the cellar.
Each bottle of Vindie Wine comes with a unique access code. When entered into the web based Vindie Player on any device, the code unlocks a playlist featuring eight songs from four emerging artists. Using a proprietary pairing process and patent pending technology, these specific songs have been hand selected to enhance that wine. Each bottle comes with a different playlist, and there is new music to discover with every bottle. The hope is that our customers discover new artists they love through each bottle of Vindie wine they purchase.
Vindie founders Rand Rognlien and Jeff Bundschu are both wine drinkers and lifelong music fans. Jeff has been active for many years in the Sonoma wine industry, producing over 25 vintages of wine over his career as well as spearheading music festivals and concerts in wine country. Rand's passion for music led him to found an instrument care company and create an online touring and management support site which assists over 5,000 independent musicians per month.

Our headquarter winery is located near 8th Street East in Sonoma in the heart of California wine country. Because Vindie believes in minimal handling, a number of private wineries in close proximity to the source vineyards are utilized. Our winery is not currently open to the public.
How do you pair the music with the wine?
It’s a Vindie secret! Rest assured, each and every song is evaluated by human ears while tasting wine with human tastebuds.
What is the definition of an 'emerging' musician?
Emerging artists are new artists or artists whose extensive catalog may be unknown to many casual music listeners. By offering emerging artists a new avenue for exposure, Vindie hopes to turn new fans onto some amazing, previously unheard music.
